German imports of caviar are forecast to drop 1.5% per year on average, from 1.73 million kilograms in 2021 to 1.6 million kilograms in 2026. This would represent a decrease of 5.9% since 1996. In 2021, Germany was the fifth largest importer, behind the US (1.73 million kilograms), Japan, South Korea, and the US in that order. Meanwhile, German caviar exports are expected to increase 2.6% per year on average, from 1.88 million kilograms in 2021 to 2.22 million kilograms in 2026. This would be an increase of 0.2% since 1996. In 2021, Germany was the fourth largest exporter behind Kazakhstan (1.88 million kilograms), China, Kazakhstan and Germany in that order.
