Macedonian imports of caviar dropped sharply in 2021, compared to the year before. The country came in at 95th place in the world rankings, with 259.35 kilograms of caviar imported. This figure is down 25.6% from the 348.6 kilograms imported in 2020, and down 31.7% from 2000. Bermuda was the top importer (259.35 kilograms), followed by Japan, South Korea and the United States. Exports of Macedonian caviar also declined in 2019, with 12 kilograms shipped out of the country. This was 14.3% lower than the 14 kilograms exported in 2018, and placed the country 60th in the rankings. Hungary was the top exporter (12 kilograms), ahead of China, Kazakhstan and Germany.
