In 2021, Spanish tourist arrivals are expected to reach nearly 60 million, a 2.6% decrease compared to the previous year. Since 2000, the number of visitors has declined by 12.3% on average each year. By 2026, Spanish Tourism Direct GDP is projected to reach 13.4% of the total GDP, up 0.8 points from 2021. Since 2013, the industry's contribution to the economy has risen 2.2 points on average every year. Iceland, the Philippines and Mexico are the next three leading countries in this ranking. Overall, the outlook for Spanish tourism is relatively stable, with a slight decrease in arrivals and a modest growth in GDP by 2026.
