In 2018, Tanzanian ammunition imports skyrocketed to 70 kilograms, a 6,900% increase from just 1 kilogram in 2017. Prior to that, the country experienced a 65.3% decline in demand since 2000. Tanzania ranked 88th in the world for ammunition imports, while Benin outpaced it at 70 kilograms. Slovakia, France and Spain came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Since 2014, Tanzanian ammunition imports have dropped by nearly 60%.
