Portugal saw a dramatic increase in ammunition imports and exports over the past few years. In 2021, the country imported 116,390 kilograms of ammunition, a 1.8% decrease from the previous year. This placed Portugal in 26th place globally, behind Sweden with 127,390 kilograms. Slovakia, France, and Spain followed in the ranking at second, third, and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Portugal's ammunition exports jumped 856.5% in 2018, reaching 220 kilograms compared to just 23 kilograms in 2017. Compared to 1993, the country's supply has decreased by 65.9% year on year.
