Estonia’s ammunition import is set to rise to almost 700,000 kilograms by 2026, according to a recent study. Over the past two decades, the demand for ammunition in Estonia has increased 11% each year on average. In 2021, Estonia ranked 15th in the world for ammunition imports, with Belgium coming out on top with 543,000 kilograms. Slovakia, France, and Spain took the next three spots in the ranking. The country’s export of ammunition, however, decreased 8.6% in 2021 compared with the previous year, reaching 3,080 kilograms. Since 2005, the annual supply of ammunition from Estonia has dropped by 22%. In 2021, Sweden surpassed Estonia as the leading exporter, with Russia, Italy, and the Netherlands making up the top four.
