Japan's hydrogen imports dropped by 13% to $1.7 billion in 2021, down from $1.95 billion in 2020. This marks an 8.8% decrease from 1996. Japan ranked 105th in the world for hydrogen imports, with Honduras ahead at $1.7 billion. Belgium, France and the Netherlands were the top three countries respectively. Japan's hydrogen exports plummeted by 71% to $2.14 billion in 2019, down from $7.24 billion in 2018. This marks a 37.9% decrease since 1993. Japan ranked 57th in the world for hydrogen exports, with Croatia overtaking them at $2.14 billion. The Netherlands, Belgium and the United States were the top three countries respectively.
