Saudi Arabia's exports of hydrogen plummeted by 55.3% in 2018, from $99,890 to $44,690, according to figures from 1996. This placed the country at 39th in the rankings, with Slovenia overtaking. The Netherlands, Belgium and the United States took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's imports of hydrogen saw a staggering 224.5% rise between 2017 and 2018, from $29,440 to $95,520. This put the country at 41st in the rankings, with Australia surpassing it. Belgium, France and the Netherlands were the next three countries in the standings. Overall, Saudi demand for hydrogen has increased by 15.5% since 1996.
