The trend follows a modest decline in demand, which has dropped by 0.8% annually since 2019. On the production side, Nigerian beer output is expected to fall slightly to 1,810 thousand metric tons by 2028, from 1,845 thousand metric tons in 2023. This equates to an average annual reduction of 0.3%. Despite this recent downturn, Nigerian beer production has seen a long-term increase, growing by an average of 0.5% per year since 1966.
