British beer sales are projected to decline to €5.9 billion by 2028, down from €6.7 billion in 2023. This represents an annual decrease of approximately 2.1%. The British beer market has been on a downward trajectory since 2014, with a yearly decline of 4.2%. In 2023, the United Kingdom held the second position in beer sales, trailing behind Germany, which also posted sales of €6.7 billion. Spain and Belgium rounded out the top four in this ranking. British beer production is also expected to see a decline. By 2028, production is set to drop to 2.9 million metric tons from 3.3 million metric tons in 2023, marking an average annual decrease of 2.1%. The trend is not new; since 1966, British beer supply has been decreasing by an average of 2.3% per year.
