Nigeria's imports and exports of natural rubber fell significantly in 2018. The country's imports of natural rubber dropped by 5.2% year-on-year, reaching almost $2.8 million in 2018, down from nearly $3 million the year before. Since 2001, the country's demand for natural rubber has fallen by almost 70%. Exports of natural rubber also dropped, falling by 17.7% year-on-year to just under $50 million in 2018, down from almost $60 million in 2017. Since 2001, Nigeria's exports of natural rubber have declined by 54%.
