Colombia's asbestos export is expected to reach 1.2 million kilograms by 2026, growing at an average rate of 3.2% each year. This is down from 4.7% year-on-year since 1999. Colombia ranked fifth in 2021, with China taking the top spot at 982,430 kilograms. Kazakhstan, Brazil, and China came in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Colombia's asbestos import decreased dramatically in 2018, coming in at 1.04 million kilograms - a 74.8% drop compared to 2017. This is one of the biggest drops since 1996, when demand fell by 42.1% year-on-year. Bolivia took the top spot in 2018, with Colombia coming in at 16th. China, Indonesia, and Myanmar followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
