Thailand’s asbestos imports dropped by 4.2% in 2021, compared to 2020, to 17.8 million kilograms. Since 1993, imports have decreased by 12.1%. Thailand ranked sixth in the world for imports, with Sri Lanka ahead with 17.8 million kilograms. China, Indonesia, and Myanmar placed second, third, and fourth respectively. Thailand’s asbestos exports are expected to reach 63,770 kilograms by 2026, up 2.5% year-on-year. Since 1996, exports have declined by 19.5%. Thailand ranked eleventh in 2021, with French Polynesia overtaking with 54,890 kilograms. Kazakhstan, Brazil, and China took second, third, and fourth place respectively.
