Exports of diamonds from Italy are expected to reach $212 million by 2026, up from $187 million in 2021. This equates to an average annual growth of 2.1%. Since 1999, Italian diamond exports have grown by 4.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Italy was in 20th place in the world rankings, overtaken by Lebanon which had exports of $187 million. The United States, Belgium, and Israel were in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, diamond imports to Italy are projected to reach $759 million by 2026, up from $709 million in 2021. This represents a year-on-year growth rate of 1.2%. Since 1999, Italian diamond imports have decreased by 2.3% year-on-year. In 2021, Italy was in 14th place in the world rankings, overtaken by Japan with imports of $709 million. The United States, Belgium, and the United Arab Emirates came in second, third and fourth respectively.
