Global graphite exports are projected to hit nearly $560 million by 2026, a 0.4% annual increase from the $546 million registered in 2021. Since 2016, global supply has surged 7.1% year-on-year. China was the leader in graphite exports in 2021, with a total value of $364 million. Brazil, Germany and the US followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Mozambique saw a surge of 368%, while Hungary experienced a decrease of 54% year-on-year since 2016. Global graphite imports are expected to reach $615 million by 2026, a 1% average annual growth from the $578 million recorded in 2021. Since 2016, global demand has grown 9% year-on-year. Japan was the top graphite importer in 2021, with $114 million in total. South Korea, the US and Germany followed in second, third and fourth place. Ghana saw an increase of 196%, while Nicaragua experienced a decrease of 62% year-on-year since 2016.
