Between 2013 and 2016, Turkey's run-of-river hydro power electricity production capacities were stagnant at 0 Megawatts (MW). However, in 2017, a significant increase was recorded, jumping to 7490 MW. From 2017 to 2023, actual data revealed a consistent upward trajectory, reaching 8860 MW in 2023. Over the years, year-on-year variations showed a mix of declines and growths, with notable increases in specific years such as a 10.15% rise in 2019 and a 4.05% rise in 2022. For the last five years, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) up to 2023 was calculated at 4.42%. Forecast data from 2024 to 2028 predict continued growth reaching 10400 MW in 2028 and an expected 5-year CAGR of 2.53%, representing a forecasted growth rate of 13.33%.
