Burundi's pesticide consumption dropped by more than half in 2021, according to recent figures. Consumption stood at 13 metric tons, compared to 28 metric tons the previous year - a decrease of 53.6%. Since 1995, the country has seen a 23.6% year-on-year decline. Burundi was placed 147th in the rankings, with Botswana slightly ahead at 13 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina were the top three, respectively.
