Peruvian pesticide consumption is set to grow steadily over the next five years. According to market intelligence firm, it is estimated to reach 12,730 metric tons by 2026. This represents an average growth rate of 2.5% year-on-year since 1995. In 2021, Peru ranked number 36 in pesticide consumption, with 11,000 metric tons. Saudi Arabia topped the ranking with 11,000 metric tons, followed by the United States, Brazil and Argentina. Peruvian pesticide imports saw a significant jump in 2018, rising from 0.04 metric tons in 2017 to 2.74 metric tons. This represented an impressive growth of 6,580%. Peru ranked 37th in the global ranking in 2018, behind Israel. Thailand, Germany and Taiwan followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
