Honduras' pesticide consumption is set to rise over the next five years. By 2026, it is estimated that consumption will reach 9,690 metric tons, up from 8,800 metric tons in 2021. This growth rate of 1.5% year-on-year is a slight increase from the 3.2% year-on-year growth rate the country has experienced since 1995. In 2021, Honduras ranked 43rd in pesticide consumption, with the Netherlands coming in first with 8,800 metric tons. The United States, Brazil, and Argentina followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. In 2018, Honduras ranked 58th in pesticide consumption, with Macedonia overtaking with 0.04 metric tons. Thailand, Germany, and Taiwan followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
