Croatia's pesticide consumption is set to drop to 1,300 metric tons by 2026, a 2.4% decrease from 2021's 1,500 metric tons. Since 1997, Croatian market has been shrinking at an average annual rate of 4.2%. In 2021, Croatia was the 79th largest consumer of pesticides, while Kenya was 78th at 1,500 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Croatia's pesticide consumption has grown 8.7% annually since 1997, when the country was 59th in the ranking. Honduras was 58th at 0.04 metric tons, followed by Thailand (second), Germany (third) and Taiwan (fourth). In 2018, Croatia was 31st, and South Africa overtook it with 0.01 metric tons. Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
