Export of Russian pesticides dropped to 20,000 metric tons in 2018, down 35.1% from the 31,500 metric tons in 2017. This is 34.9% lower than the 2001 level. Russia placed 16th in the global ranking in 2018, with Japan ahead on 20,000 metric tons. Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom placed second, third and fourth respectively. Russian imports of pesticides rose to 700 metric tons in 2017, up 215.7% from the 240 metric tons reported in 2016. This is 33.2% higher than the 2001 level. Saudi Arabia was the largest importer of pesticides in 2017 at 700 metric tons, with Russia in 44th place. Germany, China and the United States were the next three largest importers in the ranking.
