This is a 0.1% increase from the previous year, with a year-on-year growth of 3.8% since 1998. Switzerland was the largest consumer in this ranking, with 1,830 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina followed, respectively. In 2018, Slovakia's pesticide import dropped drastically, to 0.39 metric tons, a 97.1% decrease from 2017's 13.42 metric tons. This was still an 18.7% increase since 1999. The Dominican Republic was the largest importer in this ranking, with 0.39 metric tons. Thailand, Germany and Taiwan followed, respectively.
