In 2021, Belgium was 57th largest market, overtaken by the United Arab Emirates at 627 thousand metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Russia were placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Belgian meat production is forecast to reach 1.76 million metric tons by 2026, dropping at a rate of 0.1% year-on-year. Since 2005, supply has decreased by 0.4% per year. In 2021, Belgium was the 32nd biggest producer, behind Denmark at 1.77 million metric tons. The United States Virgin Islands, Brazil and Russia took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots in the ranking.
