Sales of meat in the Netherlands are set to hit €13 billion by 2026, growing at an average rate of 1.2% year-on-year. This follows an increase of 2.4% year-on-year since 2013. The Netherlands ranked seventh in 2021, with Poland coming in ahead at €11.98 billion. France, Spain and Italy followed, respectively taking the second, third and fourth spots. Meanwhile, Dutch meat consumption is set to reach 1.14 million metric tons by 2026, a slight drop of 0.2% year-on-year on average. Since 2017, demand in the Netherlands has fallen by 0.8% year-on-year. In 2021, the country ranked 37th, with Uzbekistan overtaking at 1.15 million metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Russia followed, respectively taking the second, third and fourth spots. Finally, Dutch meat production is set to reach 3.34 million metric tons by 2026, a growth of 0.9% year-on-year on average. This follows an increase of 1.2% year-on-year since 1966. The Netherlands ranked 22nd in 2021, with South Africa overtaking at 3.17 million metric tons. The United States Virgin Islands, Brazil and Russia followed, respectively taking the second, third and fourth spots.
