Indonesia's pig production is expected to rise by 1.1% year-on-year to 2.4 million heads by 2026. This marks an increase from 2.3 million heads in 2021 and is substantially higher than the 2.3 million heads recorded in 1966. Meanwhile, pork consumption in Indonesia is forecast to decline by 2.7% year-on-year on average to 257,850 metric tons by 2026. This is down from 302,000 metric tons in 2021 and a decrease compared to the 303,000 metric tons recorded in 2017. Indonesia placed 35th in 2021 in terms of pork consumption, behind Sweden, who topped the ranking with 302,000 metric tons. The United States, Russia and Vietnam placed second, third and fourth respectively.
