Colombia is set to become the ninth largest consumer of pineapple in the world by 2026. This year, the country is expected to consume 783.9 thousand metric tons of pineapple, an increase of 1.5% compared to the 718 thousand metric tons of the previous year. Since 2017, the demand for pineapple has steadily grown at an annual rate of 2.7%. The Philippines, Brazil, India and the United States are the top four consumers this year. Production of Colombian pineapple is also expected to increase in the coming years, reaching 1,248.1 thousand metric tons by 2026. This year, the country produced 1,069.2 thousand metric tons, an increase of 2.6% compared to the previous year. Since 1966, the supply of pineapple has grown at an average rate of 1.8% annually. Mexico, the Philippines, Brazil and China are the top four producers this year.
