Taiwanese pineapple consumption is predicted to reach 380,000 metric tons by 2026, a decrease of 0.8% annually on average. Since 2017, demand has grown by 1.9% each year. In 2021, Taiwan placed 16th in the list of countries with the highest pineapple consumption, with Venezuela taking the lead at 396,000 metric tons. Brazil, India and the United States were the next three in line. Taiwanese pineapple production is expected to reach 441,000 metric tons by 2026, a drop of 0.1% year-on-year on average. Since 1966, production has decreased by 3.4% each year. In 2021, Taiwan was placed 19th in pineapple production, with the Dominican Republic surpassing it at 442,000 metric tons. The Philippines, Brazil and China followed in the rankings.
