Korean pineapple consumption is expected to reach 99,000 metric tons by 2026, up 0.4% on average year-on-year from 97,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand for pineapples in Korea has grown by 0.4% annually. In 2021, it ranked 35th globally, with Russia ahead at 97,000 metric tons. Brazil, India and the United States ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Korean pineapple production, meanwhile, is forecast to fall to 774,000 metric tons by 2026, down by an average of 2.6% year-on-year from 906,000 metric tons in 2021. Since 1990, production has declined by 0.9% annually. In 2021, it ranked 69th globally, with Ethiopia above it at 906,000 metric tons. The Philippines, Brazil and China held the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
