Mexican pineapple consumption is expected to reach nearly one million metric tons by 2026. This represents an increase of 1% year on year since 2017. In 2021, Mexico was ranked seventh in pineapple consumption, with Indonesia claiming the top spot. Brazil, India and the US came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Mexican pineapple production is anticipated to reach over 1.2 million metric tons by 2026. This is a 1.9% year on year increase since 1966. In 2021, Nigeria was the top producer of pineapples, followed by the Philippines, Brazil and China. Mexico was ranked ninth.
