Costa Rica is set to become the 24th largest consumer of pineapple globally in 2026, with an estimated demand of 235,000 metric tons. This marks an increase of 1.3% on a yearly average since 2017. Kenya currently holds the 23rd spot with a demand of 216,000 metric tons. Brazil, India and the United States stand at the top of the consumer list, in second, third and fourth places respectively. Costa Rica is also projected to become the 4th largest producer of pineapple globally in 2026, with an estimated supply of 4,074,300 metric tons. This is a yearly rise of 2.1% since 1966. The Philippines, Brazil and China are currently the top three producers, with the US not far behind in fifth place.
