Swazi demand for pineapple is projected to reach 4,000 metric tons by 2026, a 15 percent decrease from 10,000 metric tons in 2021. The country’s demand has gone down 8.4% year on year since 2017. Morocco topped the list with 10,000 metric tons in 2021, while Brazil, India and the United States followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. In 2019, Swazi production of pineapple increased by 0.8% to 2,040 metric tons, compared to 2,030 metric tons in 2018. However, since 1966, the production has fallen by 44.6% year on year. Togo was the number one producer with 2,040 metric tons in 2019, while the Philippines, Brazil and China came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
