Pineapple production in Papua New Guinea is set to increase to 25,000 metric tons by 2026. The country's supply of this fruit has risen steadily by an average of 0.8% each year since 1966. In 2021, Papua New Guinea was ranked 48th in the world for pineapple production, while Cambodia was ranked one spot higher with 23,870 metric tons. The Philippines, Brazil and China ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Papua New Guinea's consumption of pineapple was 20,000 metric tons in 2018, the same as it was in 2017.
