Dutch consumption of pineapples is expected to drop to 15 million metric tons by 2026. This is a decrease of 11.7% per year on average since 2021, when the country consumed 31 million metric tons. The biggest drop in consumption has been since 2017, when it fell by 6.6% per year. In 2021, the Netherlands ranked 54th in global pineapple consumption. Jamaica overtook the country with its consumption of 31 million metric tons. Brazil, India and the United States followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
