Sri Lanka's pineapple consumption is expected to drop to 22,000 metric tons by 2026 from 26,000 metric tons in 2021. This is an average decrease of 3.3% year-on-year. Demand has remained stable since 2017 when Sri Lanka came in 57th place in the ranking, but was overtaken by Laos in 2021. Brazil, India, and the United States ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's pineapple production is projected to fall to 37,000 metric tons by 2026 from 41,270 metric tons in 2021. That's an average yearly decrease of 1.9%. Since 1966, supply has decreased by 3.1% year-on-year. Sri Lanka was 40th in 2021, but was overtaken by Honduras. The Philippines, Brazil, and China came in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.
