Indonesian pineapple consumption is forecast to reach 760,000 metric tons by 2026, down 3.2% from the 917,000 tons consumed in 2021. Since 2017, there has been a 4.1% year-on-year drop in demand. Nigeria was ahead of Indonesia in 2021, with 917,000 metric tons consumed, while Brazil, India, and the United States respectively ranked second, third and fourth. Indonesian pineapple production is set to rise 2.2% a year to reach 2.5 million metric tons by 2026, compared to 2.2 million in 2021. Since 1966, there has been a 9.7% year-on-year increase in production. China led the rankings in 2021, with 2.2 million metric tons produced, followed by the Philippines, Brazil, and China.
