Malaysia's consumption of pineapple is set to reach 260,000 metric tons in 2026, down 0.8% from 2021's total of 273,000 tons. Since 2017, consumption has decreased by 0.1% each year. In 2021, Malaysia was in 22nd place, behind Cameroon (273,000 tons). Brazil, India and the United States ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Production of pineapple in the country is forecast to drop 0.6% year-on-year from 2021's level of 306,160 metric tons to 295,510 metric tons in 2026. This follows a 4.8% fall since 1966. Malaysia was in 24th place in 2021, behind Malawi (306,160 metric tons). The Philippines, Brazil and China ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
