Rwandan demand for cassava is forecast to remain steady at around 953,000 metric tons by 2026. This figure has increased at a rate of 0.5% year on year since 2017. In 2021, Rwanda ranked 23rd in the world for cassava consumption, while the Philippines topped the list with 952,000 metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Rwandan production of cassava is expected to reach 1,341,500 metric tons by 2026, with a year on year CAGR of 1.8%. Since 1966, Rwandan supply has risen 5.3% year on year. In 2021, the country was ranked 29th in the world for cassava production, with Peru taking the lead with 1,203,000 metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana were placed second, third and fourth respectively.
