India is forecast to consume 2.3 million metric tons of cassava by 2026, a decrease of 7% from 2021. This marks a 7.5% decrease since 2017. In 2021, India was the ninth largest consumer of the staple food, with Angola consuming 3.49 million metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique respectively ranked second, third and fourth. India's production of cassava is set to reach 3.69 million metric tons by 2026, a drop of 3.3% from 2021. Since 1966, production has grown by 0.6% year on year. India was the nineteenth largest producer in 2021, with Zambia producing 4.48 million metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana respectively ranked second, third and fourth.
