Ghana is expected to see an increase in cassava consumption in the coming years. Demand is forecast to reach nearly 8 thousand metric tons by 2026, up 0.9% year-on-year on average. Since 2017, demand has been rising by 0.2% annually. Indonesia overtook Ghana in 2021, with the country coming in fourth in the ranking. Meanwhile, Ghana's cassava production is also set to rise in the coming years. Supply is estimated to reach 27.1 million metric tons by 2026, an average annual growth rate of 2.4%. Since 1966, there has been an annual increase of 5.7%. Thailand overtook Ghana in 2021, with the country coming in sixth in the ranking. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana were ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
