Kenyans are expected to consume 945,000 metric tons of cassava by 2026, up 0.8% annually from 901,000 metric tons in 2021. This was a decrease of 1.7% from 2017. In 2021, Kenya came in 25th place, while Peru was ahead with 901,000 metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique respectively came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. Meanwhile, Kenyan cassava production is projected to reach 1,121,300 metric tons by 2026, a 1.9% average annual increase from 1,001,600 metric tons in 2021. This was an 11.9% rise since 1966. In 2021, Kenya was 32nd, with Senegal overtaking at 1,001,600 metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
