The country has seen no change in consumption since 2017, and in 2021 it was ranked 63rd in the world. The United Arab Emirates came ahead of Suriname with 6 thousand metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique were the second, third and fourth biggest consumers respectively. Surinamese production of cassava is expected to reach 9,540 metric tons by 2026, up 2.1% on the 2021 figure of 8,420 metric tons. Since 1966, the country has seen a steady 2.9% year-on-year increase in supply. In 2021, Suriname was ranked 69th in the world with Taiwan coming ahead of them with 8,420 metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana were the second, third and fourth biggest producers respectively.
