Togolese consumption of cassava is projected to hit 855,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 848,000 metric tons in 2021. This would represent a 0.1% annual growth rate over the last five years, during which consumption has declined by 0.4% per year on average. In 2021, Togo ranked 26th in consumption, while Kenya topped the list with 848,000 metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique were the second, third and fourth largest consumers, respectively. Meanwhile, Togo's cassava production is expected to increase to 1.24 million metric tons in 2026, up from 1.15 million metric tons in 2021. This represents an average yearly growth rate of 1.3% since 1966, when production increased by 2.3% per annum. In 2021, Togo was 30th in production, while Rwanda came first with 1.15 million metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana were the second, third and fourth largest producers, respectively.
