Belize is set to see a slight increase in Cassava consumption and production over the next five years. In 2021, demand was at 1,000 metric tons and supply was at 730 metric tons. This will remain stable with a compound annual growth rate of 0%. Nepal overtook Belize as the 69th highest Cassava consumer in 2021. Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique followed close behind in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions. Production in Belize is expected to rise 1.1% year-on-year on average, reaching 779 metric tons by 2026. This is a slight increase since 1994, when the country saw a 3% year-on-year growth. In 2021, Mauritius overtook Belize as the 84th highest producer of Cassava. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana followed close behind in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions.
