Angolan cassava consumption is predicted to reach 6.4 million metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 0.9% year on year, compared to the 0.6% growth seen since 2017. In 2021, Angola ranked 8th in the world for cassava consumption, with Tanzania coming in just ahead at 6.1 million metric tons. Indonesia, Ghana, and Mozambique rounded out the top four. At the same time, production of cassava in Angola is expected to fall by 0.4% year on year in the same time period, reaching 8.6 million metric tons by 2026. This is a 2% increase since 1966. In 2021, Vietnam overtook Angola, who ranked 11th, with 8.8 million metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand, and Ghana were the top three producers.
