Thai consumption of cassava dropped by nearly 24% to 58,000 metric tons in 2021, compared to 76,000 metric tons in 2020. Since 2017, consumption has decreased by 13.6% year on year. Ecuador overtook Thailand in the 2021 ranking, coming in at number 47, with Indonesia, Ghana and Mozambique respectively coming in at numbers 2, 3 and 4. Thai production of cassava is set to reach 33.6 million metric tons by 2026, growing at an average yearly rate of 1%. Since 1966, production has increased by 0.3% year on year. The Democratic Republic of the Congo came in ahead of Thailand in the 2021 ranking, at number 5, with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand and Ghana respectively coming in at numbers 2, 3 and 4.
