South Sudan is set to become a major cassava producer by 2026. Production is forecasted to hit 755,000 metric tons. This marks an increase from 632,000 metric tons in 2021. Over the past four years, production of cassava in the country has grown by an average of 3.7% annually. South Sudan ranked 36th in 2021, just behind the Central African Republic's 632,000 metric tons. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand, and Ghana rounded out the top four.
