Puerto Rico's cassava production is forecast to drop by 21.2% annually over the next five years. In 2021, the country produced 122 metric tons, down from its 1966 level of 132 metric tons. This put Puerto Rico in 92nd place in the world rankings, behind Antigua and Barbuda. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Thailand, and Ghana were the top three producers, respectively. By 2026, Puerto Rican production is expected to total just 32.74 metric tons.
