Marshallese oilseeds production is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. According to recent data, production is expected to drop to roughly 1,800 metric tons by 2028, down from approximately 2,200 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 3.1%. The trend of declining production is not new for the Marshall Islands. Since 1996, the country has seen its supply fall by an average of 2.6% each year. In the global ranking for oilseeds production in 2023, the Marshall Islands was positioned at number 149. Belize surpassed the Marshall Islands with a production of around 2,200 metric tons. Leading the rankings were Brazil, Malaysia, and the United States, securing the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
