Guamanian oilseeds production is projected to decrease significantly over the next five years. By 2028, output is expected to fall to approximately 3,020 metric tons, down from around 3,670 metric tons in 2023. This decline represents an average annual decrease of 3.1%. The downward trend is not new for Guam. Since 1966, the country's oilseeds supply has been diminishing at a rate of about 3% per year. In the global context, Guam's ranking in oilseeds production stood at 143rd in 2023. That year, Sao Tome and Principe surpassed Guam with a production of 3,670 metric tons. Leading the global rankings were Brazil, Malaysia, and the United States, occupying the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, respectively.
