Guatemala's cocoa production is on the rise and is projected to reach 14,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country's supply jumped 2.3% year-on-year, making it the 20th largest producer in the world. Liberia overtook Guatemala with 12,940 metric tons, while Ghana, Indonesia and Nigeria ranked second, third and fourth. Guatemala is also expected to see a marked increase in cocoa imports over the next five years, with 3,859,000 kilograms projected by 2026, up 3.5% year-on-year. Since 1998, the country's demand has risen 13.5%, making it the 33rd largest importer. Serbia came ahead with 3,084,500 kilograms, while the US, Malaysia and Germany followed in second, third and fourth place.
